Simple Machines Unit Lesson 10:

Discussion:

What is a wheel and axle? How does it help us do work better and faster? How does a wheel and axle work on a car? Does it help us do work? How?

Task:

Use cardboard boxes to cut out different size circles for wheels. Have students pick the size of wheels for their cars in their group. I would do 5 groups of 4 or 5 children in the group. Have students choose what part of the car they would like to make. Such as the body, interior, etc.
