Lesson Plan Title: Who are they?

The lesson plan:

————————————————————

I am a student in high school, and I had the honor of attending the Governor’s School for Prospective Teachers. As part of the program I was able to spend one week in an elementary school working with first graders.

I did an activity with them that I like to call, “Who are they.”

In preparing a teacher must copy pictures of random people from History books, magazines, etc…. Next you must make up a questionnaire asking questions like 1. What is their name?

2. How old are they?

3. Where do they live?

4. What is their job?

5. What kinds of animals do they have?

Give each student a different picture and a questionnaire. Then explain to the students that these people have lost their memory and can’t remember who they are. The children will then proceed, by looking at the picture, to give the person a name, and virtually a whole new life. Then when they have finished that, having them to draw a picture of the house that the person lives in will also help stretch their imaginations.
