Title – Ancient Mesopotamia Research Project

Grade Level – 5-6

Students will do research on a Mesopotamian topic assigned by the teacher as a culminating activity for the unit. Students will research via the Internet, take notes, and create a billboard with their information. If they receive a 90 or higher on the project, they will win a prestigious BOARDIE award.

. Next, they are going to the search box and type in their topic with and without quotation marks. Afterwards, students are to read the summaries of the top web results and click on them to read if they sound like they coincide with their topic. Finally, they are to print the relevant information.

. Next, they go to the search box and type in their topic with and without quotation marks. . Afterwards, students are to read the summaries of the top web results and click on them to read if it sounds like it coincides with their topic. If success is still not achieved, they are to go to the bottom of the result page, type in something specific they are searching for within the topic and click the option search within results. Relevant information is to be printed.

After the notecards are done, students are to take 18×24 inch chart paper and put their notecards and pictures where they think they would look best. The teacher will then check it and students will rewrite their notes on the poster along with their pictures.

Presentations will be done in front of the class when everyone has completed their project.
