Students will research one of the 5 U.S. land regions.

    Coastal Plain

    Appalachian Region

    Interior Plains

    Mountain West

    Pacific Region

Research the following:

    1. States & Capitals: Identify each state and its capital city which is located within the land region. List the states and capitals in vertical columns. If any part of the state lies within the region, include that state in the list.

    2. Region Climates: Identify and define the different climates within the land region (not each state).

    3. Natural Resources: Identify the 4 most common natural resources for the land region. State the relative location for each (where is each resource located within the land region).

    4. Identify the 3 most common industries within the region.

      A. List each industry separately and write a short expository response stating the reasons why that industry is important to the region (think resources & location).

    5. Identify and state the relative location for the following physical features located within your assigned land region.

    1. Information to be presented in outline form — (outline example in class). 40 pts.

    2. Poster Requirements: Include A & B on poster 30 pts.

      A. Region Map: Display information from items 1-5 above. Use correct symbol and color for each item.

      B. Illustrate the answers for items 2, 3, and 4 in a creative manner (examples in class).

    3. Bibliography — utilize MLA format 30 pts
