Grade Level – 1-3

Aim: How does a seed grows

Germination

Materials: Jelly beans, twist ties, paper leaves

Instructions: Each student gets four jelly beans. The first jelly bean has a small twist tie coming out of it. The twist ties represent the roots. Show the students a diagram of the step of how a seed splits open, roots grow and then leaves start to form. The student has to copy each of the diagrams with his own jelly beans!
