This is a cute fingerplay my mentor teacher taught me, that I used in my unit on apples. The kids loved it, and it’s also a great way to get their attention.

Way up high in the apple tree

(bring both arms up over your head)

Two little apples smiled at me

(turn hands into fists and shake fists)

I shook that tree as hard as I could

(

make a motion as if you were shaking the trunk of a small tree, one fist on top of the other)

Down came the apples…

(move hands down and twinkle fingers for a falling motion)

Mmmm…they were good!

(rub your tummy and smile)
