NOTE: YOU MUST START THIS PROJECT TONIGHT! RESEARCH: What kind of root does a carrot have? Why is the root so big? What is needed for a plant to grow? HYPOTHESIS: Can the carrot top provide what is needed for the plant to grow? MATERIALS: Shallow container PROCEDURE: DATA: Make a chart to record any changes and measurements CONCLUSION: This is not optional. You must explain what you learned by doing this activity. NOTE: BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR PARENT OR GUARDIAN SIGNS YOUR WORK. PARENTS: YOUR SIGNATURE SHOWS YOUR STUDENT HAS DONE THE WORK. TEACHER SECTION: POSSIBLE CONCLUSION: The carrot top should show some new growth each day. The student should discuss the possible reasons for the growth.
