Title – Create Your Own Plant

6B: record observations about parts of plants including leaves, roots, stems, and flowers.
Learning Objectives:

With the given instructions, the students will be able to organize a plant in twenty minutes.

Without the teachers help, the students will be able to identify parts of a plant.

With the given materials, the students will be able to construct a plant without teacher aid.
List of Material Needed:
-
Paper (white)
-
Plant cutouts
-
Pencil
-
Crayons/Markers
-
Glue
Pre-Activity Preparation:
The teacher prepares an example. The students must be in their seats.
Transition:
The students need to move from the carpet to their tables and be quiet.
Establishing Set/ Motivation/ Introduction:
The students will be able to decorate the plant/flower however they want to.
Learning Experiences/Presentation/Procedure:

Have the white piece of paper flat in front of you.

Add about a few glue drops onto the cutout stem.

Press the stem onto the paper vertically.
-
Then grab the circle and add a couple of glue drops on it.
-
Then place it at the top of the stem.
-
Then one by one, add glue on to each pedal and place them around the circle at the top of the stem.

Then grab the leaf and place it in the middle of the stem.
-
Decorate with crayons/markers however you want.

Draw roots at the bottom.

Label the different parts.

Are the roots underground or above the soil?
