Materials: 3×5 notecards. tape, chalk, water, cold metal spoon

Focus: Pour water into a glass, have the class look at the water. Was it difficult to obtain this glass of water? No it was easy to go to the fountain and fill it. Do we often question its cleanliness? Not often. It is very easy to take clean water for granted. Discuss facts about water.

Activity: There will be a chart drawn on the board with three columns representing the three states of water. Pass out notecards which have states of wateron them. Students come to the board and tape the notecards in the appropriate place. Discuss the chart and any mistakes.
