Title – Rolling Forward

Grade Level – K-G3

Objectives:

  • to learn how to do a forward roll
  • to recognize the steps of a forward roll
  • to keep the student’s interest

Warm-Up:

  • Laps:

    • Run two laps around the court with arms forward
  • Exercises:

    • Arm stretching exercises
    • Leg stretching exercises
    • Abdomen stretching exercises

Technical Steps of the Forward Roll:

  1. Stand up and stretch your arms forward.
  2. Sit on four (squat) and face forward.
  3. Bend your head down.
  4. Roll around on your back.
  5. Finish it on your bottom with your arms around your knees.
  6. Stretch your legs forward and stretch your arms forwarding the air.
  7. Return to position in step (1).

Assessment points:

  1. Body position during the movement.
  2. Arm position during the movement.
  3. Body position after the movement.

Behavioral Objectives:

    Students are expected to achieve the following at the end of the lesson:

    • The students learn a forward roll
    • The students recognize the technical steps of a forward roll
    • The students remained interested
