This is a great lesson on feelings for the primary levels. I sit my class down in a circle and then show them an ordinary apple. Without explaining why, I showing them that the apple is ordinary, then ask each student to take the apple and give it a good whack on their desk. After they look at me like I have gone crazy, they do it. After it has passed around the circle and has gotten back to me. I show them the apple again. I show them that the still looks normal on the outside. I cut it open and show them all the bruising and brown spots the banging did to the apple. This is a great way to illustrate how even though we can’t see how we hurt people, on the inside we all have feelings that can be hurt by bad words, etc. This lesson has worked really well. Enjoy!
