Title – An Introduction Game

By – Elizabeth Dick

Primary Subject – Music

Secondary Subjects – Other

Grade Level – K-3

I have re-written words to the song “My Paddle’s Clean and Bright” for boys and girls. I sing the song to the class and point to a child who then gets up, does the motion and then sits down again.

The boy’s words are:

Hello there jumping boy.

Let’s play a game.

With a big leap for joy,

Tell me your name.

The girl’s words are:

Hello there dancing girl.

Let’s play a game.

With a big whirl and a twirl,

Tell me your name.

The variations are endless.

I have also used for steady beat activities. The kids clap their hands while singing:

Hello there clapping class.

Let’s play a game.

With a big clap of your hands,

Tell me your name.
