Title – Now Say it Like This!

By – Holly Daigre

Primary Subject – Language Arts

Grade Level – 6-8

Objective: Students will review vocabulary words through the use of *fun* repetition.

Task: When students get a new list of vocabulary words, have them take turns reading the word and its definition. To make it fun, the teacher should tell them to read the definition in a funny style.

Example styles:

    1. a little girl

    2. a furious person

    3. a surfer

    4. famous personalities (such as Scooby Doo, Gollum, Porky Pig, etc.)

The kids get a huge kick out of being silly while saying/hearing the definitions over and over. Usually, the students can also come up with hilarious voices on their own and then the other students can guess who or what they are pretending to be.
