Title – Sentence Recognition Practice

Primary Subject – Language Arts

Grade Level – 1-4

Objective: to practice recognizing sentences as complete thoughts

Materials: oaktag cutout shapes of food products and a shopping bag

Procedure:

Write sentences or phrases on the oaktag shapes. Draw “shelves” on the board. Tape the shapes on the shelves. Students take turns coming up and shopping for sentences. Then they put their purchases in the shopping bag.
