Note:

This makes a great weekend writing assignment. Although it can be done at school, it is better done at home because of the “secret” nature of the writing.

Assignment:

Go outside and closely observe a plant from nature, then write a descriptive paragraph or more about the plant, telling everything you can without ever mentioning the name of the plant.

Conclusion:

The children then share their writing with their classmates, who try to guess what the plant is.
