Title – Vocabulary

Grade Level – 3-4

Each week my students are introduce to five new vocabulary words. For fun way to get the students excited about the words, I have the students do vocabulary cards and movements. The vocabulary card is a 3×5 notecard. On one side is the vocabulary word. On the other side, I have the students write the definition, put the word in a complete sentence, and draw a picture of the word. The students keep all their cards on a binder ring in their desk. That way they can study the words at anytime.

For extra fun, I have the students make up movements for the words to help them remember the meaning. They can work with a partner and share with the entire class. They love it!
