  • Paper/pencil
  • Projector with laptop
  • Examples for students

Development of Lesson:

    Introduction:

    • Preparation for learning will start off with a brief discussion about writing personal mission statements or personal goals. Goals can be related to school, work, family, church, community, sports or leisure.
    • The projector will have already been set up to a specific brainstorming web using Inspiration.

    Methods/Procedures:

    • Teacher will ask open-ended questions to check for prior knowledge.

      “What are some personal goals that you’ve accomplished or want to accomplish?”
    • Teacher will give his or her personal examples.
    • An example of the web will now be passed out to the students so that they can brainstorm ideas onto paper.
    • Students will work in groups of two and each student will read the other student’s brainstorming ideas to the class.

    Accommodations/Adaptations:

    • Teacher will observe, ask questions to help students and give feedback to students.
