2. Select a fairy tale to present.

3. Prepare a television-style news report about the tale. Include the following:

    a. An introduction of the broadcast and anchor (“

Good evening and welcome to the *** news. I’m
    ### reporting

    “).

    (5-10 seconds.) (5 pts.)

    b. A report of the events of the tale (“

Mr. B.B. Wolf was arrested today on two counts of house-blowing-down…

    “).

    (30-60 sec.) (15 pts.)

    c. A field report from the scene of the tale (“

And now here’s ### with the story, live in Pigville…”
“I’m here at the scene of the second incident. We see sticks everywhere…

    “).

    (1-2 minutes) (15 pts.)

    THREE-PERSON GROUPS

    (2-3 minutes)
    (15 pts.)

    d. An in-studio interview with one of the characters involved in the tale (“W

e have Mr. Purdy Pig here…Mr. Purdy, tell us what happened…I was in my brick house when my two brothers came to the door…

    “).

    (1-2 min.) (15 pts.)

    e. A closing (“

And that’s the five o’clock report. Good evening from ***

    “).

    (5-10 seocnds) (5 pts.)

PRESENTATION GOALS:

Facts that are accurate to the fairy tale and suitable for a school audience.

Names, locations, and events are cleverly added to story–have fun with this!

This sounds like a real news report–presentation is well prepared and delivered.

    (5 pts.)

Bonus: simple costumes (necktie, hat, wolf tail) and/or props (beanstalk leaf, RRHood’s basket)
