Title – Color Circle

By – Stefani Butler

Primary Subject – Language Arts

Grade Level – Kindergarten

Theme – Colors

Objective: Students will practice associating color words with corresponding articles of clothing (they are also “wearing” their hair and eyes, so those count as well).

Materials:

1. Construction paper, cut into circles (make sure you have at least the 8 basic colors)

2. One large box or bag

Pre-Activity: Cut the colored construction paper into circles about the size of your hand and place them into a large bag or box.

Instructions: Have the kids sit in a circle on the floor. Start off by telling them you are going to pull a color out of a box and that everybody wearing that color can stand up. Have each kid tell you what he/she is wearing that corresponds with the chosen color. Make sure you go through every color and that every child gets the chance to tell you what article of clothing matches that color.
