Grade Level – 7-12

This is a good way to teach vocabulary. Have 9 vocabulary words written on the board. This only works well with 9 words. Go over the definitions of the words with the students. Then say them in order by multiples of three. For example:

Word list

1. Dogma

2. Dank

3. Omnipotent

4. Permeable

5. Vernacular

6. Impregnable

7. Aviation

8. Aeronautical

9. Pernicious.

You would say: Dogma, Dank Dank, Omnipotent Omnipotent Omnipotent, Permeable, Vernacular Vernacular, Impregnable Impregnable Impregnable, Aviation, Aeronautical Aeronautical, Pernicious Pernicious Pernicious. Then choose three students to repeat them back to you in the same order. This is good! This is short! Students can also make up the code, but it has to be in multiples of nine.
