Title – Acting Out Vocabulary Before using this activity, students should have a minimal background in creating and performing a play. You should also explain/review how to write a skit and perform it before doing this activity for the first time. The procedure is very simple. Break students into groups of 3-5 people. Assign each group three of their spelling/vocabulary words for the week. Have them make up a skit that has all three words in it. The rule is that each word has to be said during the play and also incorporated in it. Have students write their skits down and perform them for the class. This is a great way to incorporate the arts into your curriculum.
