Take apples or potatoes and cut them in half. Using the fleshy part of the item cut out a shape or pattern in it. Some examples are shapes or numbers. Leave the skin on because that is what the children can use to hold it with. Put different colors of paint in a flat container and let the children make prints on pieces of paper. I have made prints of hearts, triangles, and circles and the kids really enjoy it.
