By - Debbie Haren
Primary Subject - Science
Secondary Subjects -
Grade Level - 2

Materials:
notebooks
pencils
speaker from local station who is a forecaster or who is a retired forecaster.
A list of questions the students have talked about a head of time to ask the forecaster.

Activity:
Have students listen to the presenter and show respect while he or she is talking. Have a list of questions prepared ahead of time from the students to ask the forecaster. Thank them for coming and talking about the weather with your class.
Have the students after the presenter leaves write a thank you note and write something specific about what the presenter said. During the presentation make sure the children are listening and taking notes. This way they have something specific to write in their thank you note.
The teacher should also write a thank you note and send them to the forecaster station or home.
