Title – Give Me Five

By – Debbie Haren

Primary Subject – Science

Secondary Subjects – Other

Grade Level – 1st

Materials:

Construction paper

markers or crayons

Activity:

Have each child trace one of their hands on the construction paper. After they are done have them put in the middle of the hand the words “Give me 5″. Then on each finger they should put the words “eyes,” “ears,” “mouth,” “hands still,” “nose pointed to teacher.”

This is giving your teacher all five of your senses.

Now hang these up for the first week of school in the classroom. Now all the students know what they need to do when the teacher calls for their attention!! No excuses for anyone!! And then all the teacher has to say is “give me 5 class”, when she wants their attention.
