Title - Pin the Explorer on the Continent
By - Louella Nygaard
Subject - Social Studies
Grade Level - 3rd grade

This is a version of pin the tail on the donkey. The teacher will supply a large laminated map of the continents and oceans that will be attached to a large wall or chalkboard. Students are provided with a little plastic or laminated person (explorer) with sticky tack on the back side of the body. One student is blindfolded at a time and put up in front of the map. They are given 5 seconds to concentrate on the visual map. The teacher blindfolds the student, turns them around 3 times and points the student toward the map calling out either an ocean or a continent. The student touches the sticky explorer to the location called out. We all have a blast seeing where the little explorer ends up.
