Title - Pearl Harbor
By - Kevin Weaver
Subject - Social Studies
Grade Level - senior high
Japan expands into Asia. This including China which the U.S. has thought would always have an open door. This upset the U.S. to the point that they embargoed oil shipments to Japan which they believed forced them into French Indo China. The U.S. also passed Hull's ultimatum which gave the Japanese a time constraint to get out of China. This set Japan off and they attacked the U.S. at Pearl Harbor. There are those who feel that this attack on Pearl Harbor was known by Franklin D. Roosevelt. It is believed by those people that it was allowed so the U.S. would look beatable and that the Germans would then declare war.

This presentation would include a power point review, transparencies of Japan's expansion and Pearl Harbor on the day it is attacked, and video clips of the attack and Pres. Roosevelt's famous this is a day that will live in infamy speech.

The assessment will be having the students come up with questions and answer each other questions. With a whole class reviewing the questions afterward.
