This is really a project for the whole year or a semester.

The goal of this project is to get the student to make his/her own text for the History or Social Studies class.

Procedure:
During a quarter or so, the students take notes in class, collect brochures, maps, and other informational pamphlets, as well as newspaper cutouts. All this material has to be related and sorted according to the contents of the course.
At the end of the quarter the students bring the material in a paper (manila) envelope. The teacher supervises the ordering of the content.
This would work best through the entire course.
At the end of the course the student has the material organized. Then he/she puts it in a binder, a folder, or has it pasted in a book. And there he/she has his/her own textbook, made by himself/herself.

Evaluation:
Organization, Precision, Presentation, and Contents.
