Title – Millennium

Subject – Social Studies, Language Arts

Grade Level – 6-8

Objective: To make us more aware of the changes that have occurred over the past one hundred years.

Materials/Resources:

Internet

Historical documents

Other media sources/magazines/books

Art supplies

Each student will choose, by random, a category to research. After choosing, each student will have 2 weeks to research using the above resources, or any other that they can find. Once the information is collected it will be brought to school where it will be assembled into a one to two page paper. Each student will also be responsible for collecting (Xeroxing or drawing)
pictures for a small collage of their area of expertise. Each student will also be responsible for bringing in one piece of memorabilia that can be put into a box to be buried as a time capsule.

sports scientific breakthroughs

education

historical eras (1900′s, 1910-1919, 1920-1929, etc)

fashion/fads

entertainment (TV, movies, theater, music)

inventions/technology

religions
