Title - Pretend Horse Competion

Primary Subject - Health / Physical Education
Secondary Subjects - Language Arts
Grade Level - Preschool - K
Materials:
-A broom stick or slender stick for each child. If possible a stick horse bought from a store.
-cones or boxes

Procedure:
Set up an outside area or the gym to be an obstacle coarse for the "horses". Have everyone get into two lines and explain to the children that this is called a relay race. The first team to get through the course and have every person been through it is the winning team! The obstacle course should be boxes or cones set apart and the children have to go around them in a zig zag pattern and then do it again on the way back!!

Objectives:
Large muscle skill. Following directions. Working as a team. Supporting each other through words of encouragement!
