Title - How does an eye work?

Primary Subject - Health / Physical Education
Secondary Subject - Science Grade Level - 4-6

Objective: The student will be able to identify the main parts on an eye

Aim: What are the main parts of an eye?

Motivation: Who can tell me how an eye functions?

Procedure:
1. Ask the student the motivation question. Create a KWL chart on chart paper.
2. Present the class with a color transparency of a human eye with each part numbered.
3. Give each student the same copy with the chart to fill in.
4. Identify each part of the eye and the function that it has.
5. Give the student a copy of the work sheet with an example of the eye

Assessment: Test

Follow up: An online video of a dissection of a cow's eye.
