Title - Mad Dog Baseball
By - Connie
Primary Subject - Health / Physical Education
Grade Level - 2-5
Materials: - hula hoops
- baseball/softball
- bat
Objective:The objective is to keep both outfield and infield moving.
Pitcher:
Infield: Determine the batting order. The batter has three tries to hit the ball. When the batter hits, the entire infield runs the bases. Infield keeps running until the outfield completes what they are doing. Points are awarded each time the last member of the infield goes over home plate. There are no outs. Infield has three turns at bat and then goes to outfield.
Outfield:When the batter hits the ball, whoever is closer to the ball gets or catches the ball and the outfield runs to the hula hoops which are in a zigzag pattern and each member stands in a hoop. They are to toss the ball to the person in the hoops up the line and then down. You could vary the difficulty by moving the hoops further apart or in different patterns. When they finish they call time and the infield stops running.
