    Students will learn to read EXPLORE results and to use the results to guide them in future educational and career planning.
Education Standards Addressed:
    Learning to work: Students will understand the relationship between personal qualities, education and training, and the world of work
Objectives
  • Interpret assessment results
  • Examine the relationship between academic goals and future career choices
  • Provide resources for further understanding and exploration
  • Develop an understanding of assessment results
  • Utilize results to make choices for future educational and career plans
  • Explore career choices using outside resources
Materials Needed
  • EXPLORE results
  • Using your EXPLORE results booklet
  • Computer for PPT presentation
Reinforcement Activity
  • Power Point presentation on understanding and using EXPLORE results.
  • Students will be given web sites to complete further exploration of their selected career areas
  • Review individual scores and identify career interest areas identified through interest assessment
  • Students will select two specific occupations to further explore
Verification:
  • Small group activity
  • Opportunity for questions and answers at the end of presentation
Other Resources Summary
    This career guidance activity is directed towards familiarizing students with career assessments, explaining the relationship between academic achievement and career options, and promoting further exploration in career area of interest. Students will be able to explore careers, make the connection between school and work, and identify education and training needed to achieve career goals.
