Title - Cupcake Easter Basket

TEKS: PE/Health - The child prepares simple snacks
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: without the teacher's help, the child will be able to decorate a cupcake to form an Easter basket and will share materials with their peers.
MATERIALS:
cupcake, green food coloring, shredded coconut, jellybeans, Twizzlers (candy), and frosting
PRE-ACTIVITY PREPARATION:
Color the shredded coconut with green food coloring for pretend grass.
Put frosting on top of the cupcakes.
TRANSITION:
Gather the students in small groups.
STEP 1:
Tell them that they will be able to make an Easter Basket and they will be able to eat it!
STEP 2: Give each child some grass, one Twizzler, and a few jelly beans for pretend eggs.
CLOSURE:
Ask the children what each candy stood for. Ask them if it was hard for them to put the basket together.
