Title - All About Me "Homework"

During the first week of school, I send home a sheet of paper with questions all about the student. Examples would be their name, what they like to be called, who lives with them in their home, their favorite foods, colors, if they have pets or siblings, etc. I tell the parents to do the homework WITH the child, and to add pictures of their family. The children bring them back to school the following week and we decorate the room with them.
This helps me get to know all of my students and their families rather quickly. It also helps to have a picture on the wall of each child's family, in case they are missing Mom or Dad.
