Title - R-H-Y-T-H-M
By - Susie
Primary Subject - Music
Secondary Subjects - Language Arts
Grade Level - Any

This is not a lesson plan, but rather a simple idea to teach the proper spelling of the word "rhythm."

First point out that "rhythm" has 2 syllables and that "h" lives right in the middle of each syllable.

Then teach the chant:
    R-H-Y ee q
    T-H-M ee q
    That's how we spellee ee
    Rhy-thm!q q

The rhythm of the chant is this (e=eighth note, q=quarter note):

Pretty simple, huh? Now there is no excuse for NOT spelling it correctly!
