Title – Kodaly Hand Signs Game

I was teaching Kodaly hand signs to my high school choir. Once we had all of the signs learned, we made a contest out of it.

I always start on “do” and then move around the arpeggio. If a student sings the wrong pitch or does the wrong hand signal, they have to sit down. Keep going until only one student is standing. Then start over!

To make it more difficult, I added in “re” and “fa” on occasion to try to trick them. It worked every time!
