Title - How to Count Eighth Notes By - D Mulligan Primary Subject - Music Grade Level - 6th Grade Objective: Teach 6th Grade band students how to count 8th notes. Materials: Instruments, Music, Pencils Lesson: 8th note subdivision (Ex.: 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & ) Ask students to speak and clap various eighth note rhythms. Have students identify various eighth note rhythms on the chalkboard. Have students play on their instruments rhythms performed by director.
