Music Alphabet Song, part 2

By: Benton Young

Grades: K-3

Time: 1-3 minutes at the beginning of class as a vocal warm-up until the concept is integrated into their thought process.

Objective: Say only ABCDEFG during the alphabet song or going up the scale.

If you have Orff or other mallet instruments, line them up and begin the music alphabet. If anyone says the letter “H” after “G” instead of going back to “A”, you start back at the beginning of the rhythm instruments. This may be done on a piano with the same effect.
