Activity Steps - (45 minutes)
Step 1: Students will be put into 5 groups. Each table will contain the materials needed to make the lemonade. Students will pull a number which corresponds to a task.
1) recorder 2) lemon squeezer 3) someone to add the sugar 4) someone to pour water 5) someone to stir the lemonade. Two people from the group will also be chosen to be a taste tester.
Step 2: As a group, students will determine and record how much of each ingredient they will use in their lemonade. Students must also decide on a name for their product.
Step 3: The recorders will give the teacher the recipe, the product name and the pitcher of lemonade.
Step 4: A volunteer will make a chart on the board. The labels on the chart will be marked "Name" and "How Many Liked".
Step 5: The tasters will each taste all 5 of the lemonades and circle on a form which lemonade they prefer. On the chart under "How Many..." the volunteer will place tally marks.
All the other students will be allowed to taste lemonade made by other groups. Students will also be responsible for recording the data from the chart.

Students will be asked to use the information from the graph to make fractions. They will then be asked to convert the fractions to percent.
