Title – Pumpkin Activities

Subject – Math, Art, Language Arts

Grade Level – 4-8

Students are to bring in a pumpkin.

Step 1- Students need to estimate how much their pumpkin weighs.

Step 2- Students weigh the pumpkin.

Step 3- Students are to compare their estimation to the actual weight.

Step 4- Student cut the top of their pumpkin off.

Step 5- Estimate how much pumpkin will weigh without the top.

Step 6- Weigh pumpkin without top.

Step 7- Estimate how much the pumpkin will weigh without the pulp and top.

Step 8- Remove the pulp and seeds. Then weigh the pumpkin.

Step 9- Estimate how much the pumpkin will weigh without the pulp, but with the top.

Step 10- Students weigh the pumpkin without the pulp, but with the lid.

Step 11- Students carve a jack-o-lantern from their pumpkin.

Step 12- Students create a story about their pumpkin.
