Title - Fraction Fun
By - Heather Fuhrer
Primary Subject - Math
Grade Level - 4-6

Fraction fun---any level of fractions you are learning will work for this activity.

  • Have fractions all over the room.
  • Give each student a worksheet to complete. Each problem only has one part of the equation given. This could be with adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing decimals, or for a full review of all.
  • With partners, they must go around the room to figure out where the other part of the problem lies. You can give clues or have them go directly to the spot.

    Example:
    1. ¼ + (go to the biggest window) =
    2. 2/8 - (underneath a plant) =
    3. 1 4/5 x (in a corner) =

  • Already have a key made up to know if they got the equation right to begin with. They can go back to their desks, work individually or together to solve the problems.
