Title – Roman Numeral Math This lesson gives the history of Roman Numerals and it also lets students practice some math skills using Roman Numerals instead of Arabic Numerals. Roman Numerals: Give the students the background information and what each of the seven letters stands for in modern day times.
I had the students complete a chart much like the one below, and then they were asked to complete the math problems (in Arabic Numerals). Though the problems are more to a high school level, they could be adapted to fit any age group. Fill in the chart:
