Title - Adjectives
By - Catherine Melville
Primary Subject - Language Arts
Grade Level - 2-3

Objective:
Students learn about the adjectives that tell about how things taste (i.e. sweet, salty, and sour) and label food items appropriately.
Materials:
chocolate, cookies, banana, potato chips, pretzels, popcorn, lemon, lemon juice, plain yogurt
Procedure:
Introduce the three adjectives by pairing them with the foods they are most commonly associated with (i.e. chocolate with sweet, chips with salty, lemon with sour.) Have the students taste each food item as you introduce the adjective. Next, give the students pieces of each of the other foods you have and ask them to describe how it tastes and group the foods together accordingly.
