Title – Spelling Basketball

My children love this game to reinforce the spelling of our words. I put three lines of tape on the floor. Each one is a little farther from a trashcan. The children are divided into two teams. If they spell the word correctly they get to come in front of the class and take a tape ball and try and make it into the trashcan. The line that is closest to the trashcan is 1 point, the next line is 3 points, and the farthest is worth 5 points. They cannot come to shoot unless they spell the word right. This goes back and forth until a given time is up.
