Title – Chocolate Poetry

By – Kerry Pearson

Subject – Language Arts

Grade Level – 3-4

National chocolate week is celebrated the 2nd week in March.

Here is a poetry pattern to follow:

1. Brainstorm a list of chocolate words

2. Using the list of words the students will create a poem.

3. Sneaky poetry gives interesting clues that “sneak up” on the subject.

1st line describes what you see

2nd line describes how it feels

3rd line describes how it smells

4th line describes how it tastes

5th line is the object you describing

EX:

Yellow, oval-shaped, and small

Smooth and firm

citrus, fresh, and clean

tart, sour, and bitter

LEMON

4.Have each student create a poem about a hershey kiss.

5. As a treat give each student a hershey kiss
