Title - End of Year Bulletin Board Autographs
By - Del Hylton
Primary Subject - Language Arts
Grade Level - K-12
Save your bulletin board backgrounds and borders after you have removed the items of interest, such as math examples, social studies displays, student art projects, etc. During the week BEFORE the last week of school ask a talented student artist (or do this yourself!) to block letter the words: "HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!" on your bulletin board background paper. (Do not remove the background paper from the board.)
As the days get closer and closer to the end, have students autograph the bulletin board paper, leaving their names and messages for everyone to see and appreciate.
Asking several students to fill in the block letters with colorful markers will also give some students a big opportunity to do their best for the whole class!
The learning goal of this activity, K-12, is for the student to leave a positive message for everyone to view and to read. Another goal is for the students to read the messages left by classmates.
