Title - Guess the Shamrock
By - Sterling
Primary Subject - Language Arts
Grade Level - 1

Take green sheets of paper and cut shamrocks out of them, two per student. Write a spelling word on the back of each shamrock and have the students take turns drawing them out of a leprechaun's hat or pot of gold, etc. The student has to spell the word and identify it as a verb, adjective, noun, and so on. Then they have to say its past and future tenses. If they get it right, they earn a green Tootsie Roll and a point for their team. If they get it wrong, then the team doesn't get a point and the child misses a turn.
