This is an interesting lesson that challenges students to think at the last three levels of Blooms Taxamony. It is also in line with the Tennessee Standards. You will need to obtain a copy of the video "A Woman Called Moses". The video can be purchased online for about $14.00 through Xebon Home Video. I have also included the Rubric that I developed to use with my students.

The student:

Student Directions:
Answer each of the following questions in paragraph form. All paragraphs must contain at least five sentences. Refer to scenes from the movie, "A Woman Called Moses" when answering all of the questions with the exception of #2. Place your report and drawing on a poster board. Use the intranet to find an article with some background information about Harriett Tubman. Your report must be typed using Microsoft Word.
Analysis-
1. What conclusions can you draw about the movie, "A Woman Called Moses"?
Synthesis-
2. Suppose you could go back to when Blacks were slaves, what would you do to help free the slaves?
Evaluation-
3. Compare two characters from the movie, "A woman Called Moses".
4. Draw a picture depicting your most memorable scene from the movie and tell what impact it had on you and what choice or choices you would have made.
Conclusion:
After students have finished each part of the unit, allow them to share their presentations with the class.
