Title - Dream Snow
By - Nan Wold
Primary Subject - Language Arts
Secondary Subjects -
Grade Level - 2-4
Materials: Dream Snow by Eric Carle, white paint, sheets of transparencies, paper, pencils, crayons, bits of fabric

Objective: The students will add more details and adjectives to their writing.

Lesson: Read Eric Carle's Dream Snow story and then have the children create their own book. The students can brainstorm 5 things that they can cover over with "snow". Have the children write descriptions of their items. I made my own book and used descriptions of my students. They enjoyed trying to guess who was under the snow. After the children write descriptions of their 5 things they can draw a picture of each of them. Then with a transparency, paint "snow" with white paint so it covers the children's pictures. The children have a great time having their friends guess what is hidden under the transparency snow page.
