Title - Valentine Mailbox
By - Melissa Phair
Primary Subject - Language Arts
Secondary Subjects - Art
Grade Level - K-3

You use an old cereal box and cut the lid off. Then you decorate it with construction paper or tissue paper. After the entire box is covered, you can let the children decorate the box with hearts, doilies, or any other type of craft ideas. The students must place his/her name on the front of the box. These will serve as Valentine's Day mailboxes. The students can deliver their cards as they bring them in. This will help with name recognition, matching, and also could lead into a lesson on letter writing and mail delivery. This is also a great way to recycle your old cereal boxes.
